Dengue Fever Outbreak Raises Alarm

People in Mandera are living in fear after a suspected dengue fever outbreak, which has so far killed 10 people and left many in hospital beds.
The county health boss, Ahmed Sheikh confirmed reported cases bear symptoms of the fever outbreak. Blood samples have been dispatched to the Kenya Medical Research Institution for further scrutiny.
This deadly virus, transmitted by mosquitoes,  is believed to have been spread from the neighbouring country, Somalia.
Some of the noticeable symptoms of the disease are as below:
•Severe joint and muscle pains
•Sudden high fever
•fatigue
•Nausea & skin rash
•Severe headaches
The county is undertaking extensive anti-mosquito spraying exercise in possible mosquito breeding areas. Residence are urged to use mosquito repellants to curb the situation. See more- http://dgfpbd.blogspot.com
